North Shore Handyman: Built for Local Search and a Fast Quote
A property maintenance business on Auckland's North Shore, trading since 2018. The website is built around the two things that decide a local trade enquiry: being findable for the specific job and suburb, and looking trustworthy enough to be let into someone's home.
Service taxonomy first
Nine service categories, from general repairs and tiling through to Healthy Homes compliance, each given its own space rather than buried in one long list.
Real service areas
33 North Shore suburbs published as the coverage area, so the site matches how people actually search: by the job and by where they live.
Trust close to the action
Accreditations, completed project photos, and customer reviews sit near the calls to action, because a homeowner is deciding who to let into their house.
Static, edge-served
Built with Astro and deployed to Vercel, so pages are generated ahead of time and served from the edge rather than assembled per request.
Short path to a quote
Quote request stays reachable from every page, with phone and email visible rather than hidden behind a form.
The brief: an established handyman and property maintenance business needed a website that could compete for local searches across the North Shore and convert a first-time visitor into a quote request.
The delivery angle: structure before decoration. Services broken into nine categories so each job type has a home, service areas listed explicitly across 33 suburbs, and a projects gallery plus reviews and trade accreditations carrying the trust load near the calls to action.
The build: Astro, deployed to Vercel. Pages are statically generated and served from the edge, which keeps the site fast on a phone and leaves no public admin login or database sitting in front of the internet.
Why this proof matters: local trade businesses do not need a large site. They need the right pages, honest coverage of where they work, and a path to enquiry that survives someone browsing on a phone between jobs.
